Locair Cargo Services

Locair Inc. operates under an FAA Approved Part 135 On-Demand Certificate. Our crews understand the time constraints involved with cargo, and they make every effort to ensure its safe and efficient arrival to the destination.

We specialize in shipment to the Bahamas and the Carribean, and with the size of our cargo door we are able to accomodates many large/oversized pieces. Add into account the combination of short field performance and high cruise speeds of the Metroliner and we are able to offer you many options in shipping your cargo to the nearest airport of your destination. Locair's Metroliner cargo capabilities surpass those of many other FAA approved 135 operators. Since we fly larger aircraft, we have massive abilities to carry all of your cargo to the islands. We have room for food, all types of household items, large tvs, golf cart parts, marine parts, construction equipment, you name it we can probably may be able to carry it. Our cargo door is over 50” x 50”, and our cargo bin is over 17 feet long! We also have a cargo-only aircraft available for charter – with a max cargo capability of about 3,500 pounds for a 600 nm trip. At this time, we can only carry items INTO the Bahamas, if we receive enough interest, we can offer import services to the United States.

Bahamian Customers:
Our Bahamian customers are welcome to have their items shipped or dropped off at any of our U.S. points: Ft. Lauderdale (warehouse location), or St. Petersburg/Tampa. We can not guarantee flights without first knowing the arrival date, size, weight, and prepayment of the item. All items shipped without prior arrangements will go out on the next available flight. We require that someone from your company receives the item at the arrival airport on the same day as the flight as we cannot guarantee safe and secure storage in the islands.

Grocery Items:
We can take frozen and cold items with advance reservations (we will store them for you, at an additional charge) until flight time. All shipments must be prepaid or arrangements made with our Abaco Manager (located in Treasure Cay). Items being shipped for locals in the islands MUST be picked up same day, as we can not guarantee their security.

Shared Charters:
Soon we will be adding shared charters to the Bahamas for both passengers & cargo, offering substantial savings to travelers & locals! Locair will be offering up to 4 flights a week between Ft. Lauderdale, Marsh Harbour & Treasure Cay, and Stella Maris, as well as flights between St. Petersburg/Tampa to Marsh Harbour & Treasure Cay.

- Additional Per Pound:.............$0.50
     Items that need to be kept under refrigeration or frozen
     large items may be subject to linear charge as well
- Minimum Weight Charge:......$15

     Cargo can be drop shipped to Ft. Lauderdale and St. Petersburg only.
     Discounts given to shippers who guarantee at least 100 pounds per week.
     Cargo items must be picked up in the Bahamas on same day as arrival.
